Senior Trips Minimize

Every season we will be visiting a variety of exciting locations. Monthly, we take one to two local Van Clan trips, We will plan on two longer overnight trips--one in the Spring and possibly one in the Fall.  Everyone is welcome, please sign up early because trips often fill up!! Friday, September 10th: Lake Lure Boat Tour: 9:45am-2:00pm: Back by Popular demand! Discover the beauty and charm of Lake Lure. Relax on the covered tour boats while our skipper guides us past local attractions and landmarks such as the locations used in filming the popular Dirty Dancing and the recently restored historic 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa. Listen to the legends, and learn about the natural and cultural history of Hickory Nut Gorge, home to Lake Lure, North Carolina. $17 pp plus money for lunch. Note: trip is now FULL, call to be put on the waiting list.

Friday, September 17th: 6:15pm-9:15:  Old Fort Mountain Music: Join us for our yearly trip to Old Fort for some true Appalachian Mountain Music!  This is an local treat that everyone should experience!  Cost of trip is $3 pp, we will NOT go to dinner before, please eat before you come. Must have 5 no more then 12.

Friday, October 1st-2nd :Galax VA: New River Biking Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway hiking trip:Bike 15 miles on the New River bike trail, hike 3 miles on the Parkway, listen to some authentic Blue Ridge Mountain Music at the Historic Rex Theater and see the Blue Ridge Music Center. $150 pp for double room or $175 for single.  Cost includes: room and board, transportation, one breakfast and lunch, and bike rental. One dinner and one lunch are on your own. Rain or Shine. $50 deposit due to hold your spot, five person min. 12 person max.  PAYMENT IN FULL IS DUE NO LATER THEN SEPTEMBER 9th. Must have 5 people for this trip to run   

Thursday, October 7th: 8:30am - 4:00pm : Rafting the Nantahala River: This trip is fun for the beginer and advanced rafter!  This lovely river is perfect for a day of rafting and floating in the sun!  Please dress in clothes that you can get wet, not flip flops-water shoes or old tennis shoes are best.  $32pp. PLEASE pack your lunch.  Must have five people.  

Thursday, October 14th: 1:00-4:30:  Apple Picking, Hay ride and tour of J.H. Stepp Family Farm and Orchard:  We will ride along while getting the full tour of this fourth generation Apple Farm, shop in the store AND get to pick some apples of our own!  $10pp.  Must have 5 people for this trip to run.
