 Lakeview Senior Center is a two-story building located at Lake Tomahawk. It serves a weekday lunch site and activity center for seniors. For a list of specific programs, please use the following links:

Senior Lunch Site

The Lakeview Senior Center and the Buncombe County Council on Aging host a lunch Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 2:00.  This is a great opportunity for seniors to get out and meet new folks in the area, enjoy fellowship and a great meal! These meals are available to seniors over 60. Bingo is played every Thursday at 11.

*There is free transportation provided by Mountain Mobility.

Where:   Lakeview Senior Center
When:    Monday through Friday 10AM-2PM, lunch served at noon.

Lunch & Learn Minimize

Come join us once a month for a fun activity or lesson taught by an instructor, then stay for a good meal afterwards.

AARP Driver Safety Refresher Course. Take this driver safety refresher course especially designed for drivers age 50 and over.

When: July 9. Begins at noon with a complimentary lunch, followed by class from 12:30 to 4:30.

Where: Downstairs at Lakeview Center

Fee: AARP members, $12. Others $14. (Bring your card to class for member rate.)

Pre-registration for this event is required.

SHIP: Senior Health Insurance Program Minimize

 

State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)

Every Thursday from 9:30 am until 11:30 there will be a SHIP volunteer here at the Lakeview Senior Center to support seniors with questions regarding Medicare and/or Medicaid.  Help is provided with such things as: paying for prescriptions, questions on billing, filling a claim, understanding your bill and any other issue that you may be having with Medicare/Medicaid.

Advice is also available over the phone during this time period.  To set up an appointment, please call the Lakeview Center. 669-8610
